Passionate upcycler and waste campaigner Karen Cannard (@KarenCannard) fell in the love the shape of these A310 elevators when she saw them on a visit to DappR’s workshops.
The aircraft grade alloy elevators, designed to be fitted on the aircraft’s tail to control it’s lift, had been stored as replacement spares and never been used when the A310, Airbus’s second ever production variant, was taken out of service. Destined for the scrap heap they were rescued by DappR and make a perfect roof for this bespoke garden office.
As ever, DappR combined high quality aviation parts, with an environmentally friendly recycled wood. The structure included window frames and doors salvaged from Liverpool Street station and was fully insulated with natural, eco friendly lamb’s wool insulation.
Karen was delighted “DappR have shown what can be achieved with skill and imagination – I smile every time I go to work in my back garden!
